It's Actually Cool Trying To Be Obama. by Angela Ndagano on Tuesday 10th November '09
It's one year since Obama was elected President of the United States of America. As the rest of the world still awaits the benefits from this great man, I have decided to make use of what's nearest to me.
Did you know how cool it can be to apply some of his speech or those by his close family members in your daily life? This could actually bail you out in the most awkward moments. Let’s try out.
Convincing the boss.
It's time to put an end to the boss’ complaints. “Ever since you came, you’ve not added value to this company”, are words familiar to your ears. This time you have the perfect answer. “Madam, it may not happen in the next four years, but I promise we will get there”
Getting rid of the nagging ex
He /she can’t stop calling your phone. They are stalking you because they want things to go back to the way they used to be. You can politely say to them;
“It is only the chance for us to make the change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were.”
Your co-worker is angry because you got all the credit for the project.
You’ve done it again; you gave the boss the assignment without indicating the contribution of your co-worker. You get all the praises in the meeting as he bursts with fury. Enjoy your moment of glory and when the meeting is done, quietly say to him;
“You made this happen, and I am forever grateful for what you've sacrificed to get it done. But above all, I will never forget who this victory truly belongs to. It belongs to you.”
The demanding girl friend/wife
There was a time when you thought you would never get this girl. Finally, you are in a relationship but her demands are exceeding your wallet. The insults can’t stop coming, “Other men provide for their women, you are a useless man”, she says. Well, let her know the truth. Share an Obama moment with her.
“I was never the likeliest candidate for this office. We didn't start with much money or many endorsements”
The wedding day, message to your competition.
It’s your wedding day and there are so many men /women among the crowd who could do anything to be in your shoes. Well, it has not been easy getting this beautiful woman or handsome man to the alter. Take a moment to recognize those who made the journey hard for you.
” Let me -- let me express -- let me express my thanks to the historic slate of candidates who accompanied me on this journey, and especially the one who traveled the farthest”
The child outside marriage
Time is up; you’ve been keeping the secret for long. Your illegimate child has to join your family. The wife is going to have many questions. What excuse are you going to give her?
“Four years ago, I stood before you and told you my story, of the brief union between a young man from Kenya and a young woman from Kansas who weren't well-off or well-known,”
